چکیده مقاله
Listening as one of the significant perceptive skills, has been an important issue in different learning contexts, specially for learners who have not been exposed to sufficient language input. In Iranian high school setting, EFL learners face challenges while trying to learn English compared to other productive and perceptive language skills. This study examines the impact of a three-phase task cycle based language teaching (TBLT) on students’ listening comprehension. To do this, a two-week classroom activity was planned to be conducted in a high school class for 30 male students. It included a pre-test, task-cycle and post-task process based on Willis's model. After collecting data in the teacher's interview, students feedback and classroom observation, findings showed that students' listening comprehension had improved and they showed increased motivation and confidence in this critical skill. As a suggestion for improvement of listening comprehension skills, the TBLT cycle can be a remedy to be used in different EFL contexts.
