| The Impact of AI Tool Training on Pre-Service English Teachers’ Creativity in Teaching Vocabulary Lessons |

| The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of AI tool training on pre-service English teacher's creativity in designing and teaching vocabulary lessons. Recognizing the increasing importance of AI based learning, the research sought to examine whether artificial intelligence(AI) tools can serve as an effective tool for developing creativity in vocabulary teaching. To this end, 30 pre-service teachers were randomly selected from Farhangian University, Iran’s official teacher education university. The participants were pretested for their homogeneity. Then, they were randomly assigned into two groups: The experimental group (n=15) received training in AI tools and the control group (n=15) did not receive training in AI training. Data collocation involved two main components: a self-report questionnaire assessing perceived creativity and a performance-based evaluation of vocabulary teaching sessions. An independent t-test between the experimental groups and control groups showed statistically significant improvement in both perceived creativity and actual teaching performance after the AI tool training. Self-reported creativity scores increased significantly t (28) 3.38 p < 0.05 Cohen's d = 1.24 and the teaching performance evaluations also demonstrated a substantial enhancement t (28) 2.29. p < 0.05 Cohen's d= 0.84. In light of the results, it could be stated that it really does make a difference to offer future teachers an opportunity to familiarize themselves with new digital tools, even within a limited time. This enables them to reflect on creating more attractive vocabulary lessons for the students. |
