| Abstract This study investigated Iranian high school teachers' attitudes toward critical cultural awareness (CCA). The participants included 307 teachers from different high schools in Qazvin. Each teacher completed the Critical Cultural Awareness Questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using Principal Components Analysis in SPSS, which identified three distinct factors. The results showed that teachers had the highest level of critical awareness regarding ELT textbooks and materials. However, their awareness of CCA in general was the lowest. Item analysis revealed a strong agreement among teachers that all cultures should receive equal consideration in ELT textbooks and materials. The study concludes that while teachers recognize the importance of cultural representation in materials, there is a significant need to improve their practical teaching skills for integrating CCA systematically into classroom practice. Practical implications include focused professional development programs and the creation of supportive, culturally diverse teaching resources to better address these identified gaps. |
